Graciles
Descending from the most affluent, the Graciles are giants between 6ft and 7ft tall with life-spans that could span to 120 years - but limited resource drives their society to only allow those deemed worthy to live beyond fifty. Their physical appearance, driven by indicators of health, youth and fertility, has been improved to perfection. Racial differences have also been ironed out by interbreeding, producing a uniform race of coffee-colored people.
Within the context of this story, the Graciles are the peak of human evolution. Having bio-engineered themselves to be superior in every way, they view themselves as gods, while seeing the rest of humanity, specifically the Robust's, as sub-human. Almost all Graciles are wired into the neural net, and many purchase nanobots to correct minor cellular defects as they occur.
Isolated from the horrors of the icy slums below, they live on a series of habitable ariel platforms or "Lillipads" elevated miles above the domain of the Robusts. They call their utopia, New Etyom.
